竹宮惠子氏のアニメ功労部門顕彰を記念して、『地球へ…』（2007）のTVシリーズ版を上映。壮大なスケールで人類の未来を描いたSFアニメの金字塔である本作より、全24話の中から物語の核心と転換点を象徴する第4話・第8話・第24話をセレクション。人類とミュウの対立、そして希望へと至る旅路を、厳選された3話で辿ります。さらに、上映後には原作者・竹宮惠子氏が登壇し、本作に込められた思想や創作の背景について語っていただきます。

To commemorate Ms. Keiko Takemiya, we present the TV series version of “Toward the Terra” (2007). This landmark sci-fi animation depicts the future of humanity on an epic scale. We selected Episodes 4, 8, and 24 which represent the core and the turning points of the story.We will follow the journey of the conflict between humanity and the Mu, leading toward hope. Following the screening, we invite Ms. Takemiya to discuss insights into the themes of the work and its creative background.

大気汚染、自然破壊……地下には毒素がたまり、海からは魚影が消えた地球。
人類は死にゆく地球を守るため、なりふり構わぬ手段を尽くす「Ｓ．Ｄ（スペリオルドミナント）時代」に入った。
樹立された「特殊政府体制」――それは完全な生命管理の社会であった。
コンピューター管理社会の中で、整然と悩むことなく生きる人間達。
その一方で、体制の中でつまはじきにされた、特殊な能力を持つ者たち「ミュウ」の存在があった。

Air pollution and the destruction of nature… Toxins accumulate beneath the ground, and the seas are depleted of fish. Willing to sacrifice anything to protect the dying Earth, humanity enters “the age of S.D. (Superior Dominant)”. A “Special Government System” is established to enforce complete control over all human life. Within this computer-managed society, people live orderly lives, free from doubt or inner conflict. Meanwhile, there exists a race known as “the Mu” possessing special abilities who are shunned by the system.
