安彦良和氏のアニメ功労部門顕彰を記念して、SFアニメーション『ヴイナス戦記』を上映します。1989年に公開されたものの長い間、上映の機会がなく幻の作品と言われていた名作を大スクリーンで体験できる貴重な機会です。音楽を久石譲氏が手掛けたことも話題となりました。上映後には原作・監督・キャラクターデザインを手掛けた安彦氏にご登壇頂き、トークショーを実施します。

To commemorate Mr. Yoshikazu Yasuhiko’s Achievement Award, we present “Venus Wars”. Originally released in 1989, but the film has lacked screening opportunities for many years. This is a rare opportunity to experience this long-hidden masterpiece on the big screen. Following the screening, Mr. Yasuhiko—who served as the original creator, director, and character designer—will join us for a special talk.

西暦2003年、増大する人口を移住させるため、金星のテラフォーミングが実施され、人類の移住計画がスタートした。
それから72年後。金星は終わりない戦乱下にあった。イオ・シティで暮らす少年ヒロは、バイクレース「ローリングゲーム」に参戦し刹那的な戦いを繰り広げる日々を過ごしていた。そんなある日、イシュタル軍によりイオ・シティが制圧され、ヒロはレース仲間とともに戦いに身を投じていくことに。

In 2003, in order to relocate the growing population, the terraforming of Venus was carried out, and the human migration plan began.
Seventy-two years later. Venus was in a state of endless war. Hiro, a boy living in Io City, spends his days participating in the motorcycle race “Rolling Game” and engaging in ephemeral battles. Then one day, Io City is overpowered by Ishtar’s army, and Hiro decides to throw himself into battle with his race mates.
