1994年、イタリア人記者のIIaria AlpiとカメラマンのMiran Hrovatinは内戦中のソマリアに向かった。西欧諸国の違法廃棄物をアフリカに押しつけ、その対価として武器を提供している疑惑を調査取材するためだった。だが、2人はソマリアの首都モガディシュで殺されてしまう。
二人への追悼と真実を次世代に伝えるため、作者は外部資金を使わずにひとりでこの手描きアニメーションを制作した。

In 1994 Italian reporter Ilaria Alpi and photographer Miran Hrovatin headed for Somalia during the civil war to uncover a secret trade between Africa and the West accepting illegal toxic waste in exchange for firearms. But the two were killed in Mogadishu, the capital of Somalia. In order to commemorate them and to tell their true stories to younger generations, the director hand-drew this animation entirely by himself without using any public funds.
