VERGE
本作は、生まれて間もなく海へと向かう旅路の途中で、兄弟たちに取り残されてしまう、小さくて、のろまなアオウミガメの赤ちゃんを描く短編アニメーション作品である。彼は必死に海に出ようともがくものの、巨大な波や運ばれてくるゴミに襲われ、岸へと押し戻されてしまう。次々と降りかかる困難。生まれたばかりのカメにとって、ごく短い距離を進むことが、いかに厳しい試練となり得るかを描いた一作。
“VERGE” is an animated short about a small, gawky, newly born green sea turtle, who falls behind his siblings on his voyage to the sea. As he arduously tries to scramble to the ocean, a massive waves and trash smack him back to the shore, stimulating a series of challenges. The short explores how navigating a very short distance can be the hardest part of a newborn turtle’s life.

 Chingtien Chu 台湾出身のコンピューターアニメーションの専門家。 Chingtien Chu was born on Taiwan, a computer animation professional. He recently received his MFA in computer animation at the School of Visual Arts, focusing on lighting and compositing. With a deep fine arts background, he has mastered impeccable drawing skills, honed his sense of observation, and developed a keen sensitivity for light, shadow and color to craft highly resonant imagery. |
