This year, there were 39 submissions (34, last year) from 31 countries and territories for Feature Animation and 997 submissions (997, last year) from 71 countries and territories for Short Animation. Among them, a total of 27 films (4 for feature / 23 for short) were selected by the TAAF2026 Preliminary Selection Committee as the nominees for the Competition.
The Award Ceremony for the Tokyo Anime Award Festival 2026 was held on March 16th at TOHO CINEMAS Ikebukuro. The results are as follows.
