TAAF2026 Feature Animation Jury

Manabu OtsukaPresident, MAPPA Co., LTD.

After working at the animation studio STUDIO4℃, he joined MAPPA as an animation producer on the studio's first project, "Kids on the Slope".
Since joining the company in 2011, he has overseen the production of numerous works, including "JUJUTSU KAISEN", "Attack on Titan Final Season", and "Chainsaw Man".
He has held his current position since 2016.

Kenji KamiyamaManaging Director, SOLA Animation / Film Director

Born in Saitama in 1966. Filmmaker, screenwriter, and director. He served as director and series composition for TV animation series "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex" (2002~2005) which became a major hit. He also co-directed full 3D CG animation series, "ULTRAMAN" (2019) and "Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045" (2020) with Shinji Aramaki. In 2021, he wrote and directed the episode "The Ninth Jedi" in "Star Wars: Visions", which was released worldwide. His most recent directorial work is "The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim" (2024).

Nora TwomeyCo-Founder & Creative Director, Cartoon Saloon

Nora is Creative Director and Co-founder of Cartoon Saloon in Kilkenny, Ireland. Nora co-directed Tomm Moore's ACADEMY AWARD® nominated "The Secret of Kells", was Head of Story and Voice Director on ACADEMY AWARD® nominated "Song of the Sea". Nora directed The Breadwinner, which was nominated for an ACADEMY AWARD® & GOLDEN GLOBE and "My Father's Dragon", a feature for Netflix. Nora continues to develop original films and projects while working on Cartoon Saloon's slate in development and production.

Yee Chih-YenWriter / Director

Mr. Yee earned his MFA in Film Production from UCLA in 1989. Working across live-action and animation, his films include "Lonely Hearts Club" (Rotterdam), "Blue Gate Crossing" (Cannes Directors' Fortnight), "Meeting Dr. Sun" (Osaka Asian Film Festival Best Picture), and the animated feature "City of Lost Things", selected at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and the Tokyo Anime Award Festival (TAAF) and winner of the Golden Horse Award for Best Animated Feature. His work addresses social issues through accessible genre storytelling, and he is also known for discovering and nurturing emerging filmmakers and actors in Taiwan.

TAAF2026 Short Animation Jury

Taku FurukawaAnimator / Illustrator

Born in Mie in 1941. After working at TCJ and Kuri Experimental Manga Studio, Furukawa has been active as a freelance animator and illustrator since the 1970s. He serves as Honorary Chairman of the New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival Committee and Honorary Chair of the JAPAN ANIMATION ASSOCIATION (JAA). He received the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 2004 and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette in 2012.

Kensuke YamamotoProfessor, Department of Animation, Faculty of Arts, Tokyo Polytechnic University

After co-founding the game developer ACQUIRE in 1994, he transitioned to visual effects production at Motor/lieZ, contributing to numerous live-action theatrical films. Later, at Orange Co., Ltd., he specialized in 3DCG animation effects and co-directed "IDOLiSH7 the Movie: LIVE 4bit BEYOND THE PERiOD" with Hiroshi Nishikiori. He is currently a Professor at Tokyo Polytechnic University's Department of Animation.

Nadja AndrasevDirector / Production Manager

Nadja Andrasev started in the live action film industry, then studied animation at MOME. Her films, "The Noise of Licking" and "Symbiosis" screened at numerous festivals and received over fourty awards, including a Third Prize at the Cinéfondation Selection in Cannes, and a Jury Award for Best Animated Short at SXSW. Besides directing, she is now a freelance production manager.

Nuno BeatoDirector / Producer

Nuno Born in Lisbon on 1977. He began his career early on as an animation film producer and director. In 1998, set up the production company Lampadacesa, Lda. In 2007 he co-founded Sardinha em Lata, Lda. with the aim of investing in the internationalization of Portuguese animation cinema. Began his career as a teacher in 2002 on the stop motion course. Currently, as well as being a producer and director, he also teaches Animated Film at University.
