What is Anime of the Year?

“Anime of the Year” is an award commending influential animation works or figures considered worthy to be passed to the next generations in terms of techniques, originality, commerciality or plots. The members of Association of Japanese Animations (the animation industry organization mainly consisting of Japanese animation studios) and today’s leading animation producers select the most appropriate works and figures for Animation of the Year.
