A manga artist. Inoue's representative works are "SLAM DUNK" with a domestic circulation of more than 140 million in total, ongoing "REAL" and "Vagabond". He received numerous awards including the Art Encouragement Prize for New Artists from Agency for Cultural Affairs. His activities such as "Inoue Takehiko: The LAST Manga Exhibition" which used the whole museum and "Shinran", the folding screen painting he drew for Shinshu Otani-ha Higashi Honganji caused a sensation. "THE FIRST SLAM DUNK" based on his original manga, written and directed by himself won the Best Animation Award of the Japan Academy Film Prize.

Born in Ishikawa in 1968. Honda served as an animation director for the first time for the TV series, "Nadia, The Secret of Blue Water" made by GAINAX Co., Ltd. after he made his animation debut at Atelier Giga. Then he participated in "Millennium Actress" (2001), "COIL A CIRCLE OF CHILDREN" (2007) at MADHOUSE Inc., and served as a chief animation director for "EVANGELION:3.0 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO."
