Ethel’s childhood ends abruptly when her mother flies away, leaving Ethel alone to care for an isolated homestead and her younger siblings. As a merciless winter descends upon them, Ethel must decide whether to resign herself to fate or to try her luck in the wide world….
母親が飛び去った時、子供としてのエセルの生活は突然終わりを告げ、たった一人で人里離れた家で幼い兄弟たちの面倒をみることになってしまう。厳しい冬が訪れ、エセルは運命に身を委ねるのか、広い世界で自分の運を試してみるのか、決断しなければならない…。

 ダニエル・ギース Daniel Gies, a self-taught animator and art & tech director based in Montreal, Canada, is known as an artist who freely explores new techniques' possibilities to tell never-dying old stories by animation. Although he has collaborated with many artists, "Return to Hairy Hill" marks Daniel's first independent film. カナダ、モントリオールを拠点とする、独学のアニメーター、アート兼技術監督。不朽の昔話をアニメーションで伝えるために、新技術の可能性を自由に模索するアーティストとして知られている。多くのアーティストと共同制作をしてきたが、『ハイリー・ヒルへ帰ろう』は初の単独制作作品である。 |
