日本のアニメーション映画、とりわけストップモーション撮影による立体アニメーションの分野でそれぞれ類なき功績を残した作家、川本喜八郎と岡本忠成。川本の没後10年、岡本の没後30年を迎え、改めてお二人の偉業にスポットをあてるべく、TAAF2021 コンペティション部門・短編アニメーション「スロット1」の最初に岡本忠成の『サクラより愛をのせて』、「スロット３」の最初に川本喜八郎の『鬼』を特別上映します。

Kihachiro Kawamoto and Tadanari Okamoto were artists who each left unparalleled achievements in Japanese animated film, particularly in stop motion animations. Coming up on Kawamoto’s 10th and Okamoto’s 30th death anniversaries, we would like to spotlight their accomplishments by screening. TAAF2021 screens Tadanari Okamoto’s “Sakura Yori Ai Wo Nosete” in Slot 1 and Kihachiro Kawamoto’s “The Demon” in Slot 3 as the first film of each screening of Short Animation in Competition.
